Normal Conflict vs. Bullying

Conflict between girls/adults is a normal occurrence.

Relational Aggression or bullying someone is not acceptable behavior.

Learn the differences between the two with this table.

Ground Rules

Ground rules are essential for creating a safe place.

Check out this document to learn how to help the girls create effective and meaningful ground rules.

Check In

Creating a routine in your troop is a great idea and it also helps you find out

what the girls are bringing to the troop meeting that day.

Check out this document to see how to begin a check-in routine in your meetings.

Peace Keeper Game

Learning how to give compliments and air grievances in a safe way is a great skill for girls.

No Way RA Patch Program

The movie Mean Girls may be funny, but relational aggression, or R.A., is no fun in real life.

When girls use R.A. (sometimes called female bullying), there are no punches or kicks.

Instead girls use words, relationships and behaviors to hurt other girls.

The "No Way R.A." patch program is a great way to build your friendship skills

and learn what to do if you run into "The Queen of Mean."

This program was originally written for girls 11-17 but can be adapted to reach any age girl.

Thanks to Girl Scouts of Colorado for sharing this program.
